Join us for a vibrant and meaningful sugar skull decorating workshop, where we will celebrate and learn about the rich traditions ofDia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). In this hands-on experience, participants will gain insight into the cultural significance of the holiday, explore the process behind crafting sugar skulls and have the opportunity to decorate their own unique skull to take home.As a special part of the event, we invite you to bring a photo of a loved one who has passed away. These photos can be added to our ofrenda (community altar) as a way to honor and remember those who have left us, while keeping their memory alive in this beautiful tradition.All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Come celebrate, create and connect!For ages 6 to 19.How to Attend Register by the start of the event. Chicago Public Library cannot collect personal information online from kids 0 to 13.
