Anne Rice (Interview with the Vampire), Shirley Jackson (The Haunting of Hill House), Susan Hill (The Woman in Black) and Daphne Du Maurier (The Birds) have written the source novels for numerous genre classics, while screenwriters like Diablo Cody (Lisa Frankenstein), Rose Glass (St. Maud), and Leigh Janiak (Fear Street) delivered the chills firsthand.
